A sophomore standout on the Oregon State University women’s golf team, Slama won her second career collegiate title in October at the SMU Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas.

On the course, Ellie continued to show that she is one of the best players in the Pac-12 Conference. The PNGA’s two-time junior girls’ player of the year (2015, 2016) not only set a bunch of scoring records for the Beavers, she also won the Oregon Women’s Amateur, and played in both the U.S. Amateur and Canadian Amateur.

“Everything in my game came together at the right time,” Ellie said of her 2018 season. Her accomplishments have been recognized – she has received an invitation to play in the inaugural Augusta National Women’s Amateur, to be held April 3-6, the week prior to the Masters.

Other players with Northwest ties invited to the Championship include Sophie Hausmann of Germany, a senior on the University of Idaho Women’s Golf Team and Wenyung Keh of New Zealand, a senior on the University of Washington Women’s Golf Team.

The inaugural championship will feature an international field of 72 women amateurs competing over 54 holes, with a cut to 30 players after 36 holes. Rounds one and two will take place at Champions Retreat Golf Club in Augusta, Ga. with the final round being played at Augusta National.
