If you build it, they will come…and keep coming… Another USGA championship is coming to Bandon Dunes

The 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur is coming to Bandon Dunes Golf Resort this summer. The national championship will be held on the resort’s original Bandon Dunes course.
The championship will be conducted with the assistance of 175 volunteers, many of whom had volunteered at previous USGA competitions held at the resort. “We have a good pool to draw from,” said Nick Bonander, the resort’s PGA director of golf. “The Oregon Golf Association has been very helpful in providing the majority of volunteers.”
Bonander, who has been at the resort since 2014, is managing this national championship for the resort. He says the staff’s priority in hosting these high-profile events is to make them as special as possible, an attitude that was fostered by resort owner Mike Keiser and is being carried forward by his sons Michael and Chris.

“The Keiser family’s support of amateur golf is so important to everything we do here at Bandon Dunes,” Bonander says. “Their directive to us is to continue our special relationship with the USGA. We’re very excited to have the best women amateur players come here in August.”
The Keiser family also owns Sand Valley Resort in Wisconsin, which will be the site of its first USGA championship next year, the 2026 U.S. Mid-Amateur. This year, Mike Keiser was honored by the USGA with their Bob Jones Award, which recognizes those who personify the character, sportsmanship and respect for the game as its champion namesake.

“Amateur golf is the heart of the game,” says Chris Keiser. “Hosting elite golfers and championships at both Bandon Dunes and Sand Valley through our ongoing relationship with the USGA is a great honor.”
The 2025 U.S. Women’s Amateur will be the ninth USGA championship held at Bandon Dunes since it opened in 1999, a run which began with the 2006 Curtis Cup. The resort has also held other elite amateur championships, such as the Pacific Coast Amateur (2005, 2012) and the PNGA Men’s Amateur (2000, 2013).
Following this year’s U.S. Women’s Amateur, the USGA will be conducting 11 more amateur competitions at Bandon Dunes over the next 20 years, starting with the 2028 Walker Cup Match. The U.S. Women’s Amateur is scheduled to return to Bandon Dunes in 2032 and 2041.
