PNGA comes up short in its bid to repeat in Morse Cup at 47th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship

Following second round action at the 47th Pacific Coast Amateur Championship, the annual two-day Morse Cup team competition, which is held concurrently with the championship’s individual competition, closed with the winning team representing the Northern California Golf Association (NCGA) narrowly edging the defending champion trio representing the Pacific Northwest Golf Association.

The NCGA worked off the great rounds posted on day two to post a 36-hole cumulative team score of 141-132-273 (-7) to slide by the PNGA and claim the trophy who scored 141-134-275 (-5) over two days.

The PNGA was represented in the Morse Cup by Matt Rawitzer, David Fink and Carl Jonson (left to right in photo). Also in the photo is Cliff Shahbaz, the PNGA Trustee for the Pacific Coast Golf Association
