Both championships consist of two-person teams, and each championship has a Super Senior division, all of which will be contested over 54 holes. The first and third round of each championship will be Four-Ball stroke play, while the second round for each championship will be in the Chapman format. Entrants must be 50 years of age or older prior to start of play in the first round.

The championships are being conducted by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA).

The team of John Gallacher of Burnaby, B.C. and Gudmund Lindbjerg of Port Moody, B.C. won the Senior Men’s title in 2014, and are in the field again to try for another title. The duo has played as a team in this championship for more than a decade.

Last year’s Women’s Senior Team Championship saw the pairing of Ginny Burkey of Eugene, Ore. and Lisa Smego of Olympia, Wash. defend their title, and the duo is now looking for their third consecutive title. Both players have also experienced winning this event with other partners in the past. Smego won in 2012 with Karen Brannon as her teammate while Burkey won four consecutive times from 2008-2011 with Loree McKay as her teammate. The 2015 victory gave Burkey her sixth PNGA Women’s Senior Team Championship title, giving her for the most wins in this event (Pat Harrop-Schumacher of Sequim, Wash. has five).
