PNGA well-represented at upcoming U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur

The U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur Championship is being conducted September 9-14, 2017 at Waverley Country Club in Portland, Ore.

This year’s championship marks the first time that a USGA national championship has been played in the Pacific Northwest since the 2015 U.S. Women’s Amateur at Portland Golf Club, and the first national championship to be held at Waverley since the 2000 U.S. Women’s Amateur Championship.

The field of 132 players features a number of players with ties to the PNGA.

Mary Budke (Palm Springs, Calif.)

  • Two-time PNGA Junior Girls’ Amateur Champion (1970-71)
  • 1976 PNGA Women’s Amateur Champion
  • 2005 PNGA Hall of Fame inductee

Marcia Fisher (Molalla, Ore.)

  • Two-time PNGA Women’s Amateur Champion (1989, 1991)
  • 2007 PNGA Hall of Fame inductee

Terri Frohnmayer (Salem, Ore.)

  • 1974 PNGA Women’s Amateur Champion
  • 2010 PNGA Senior Women’s Amateur Champion
  • 2011 PNGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year

Holly Horwood (Vancouver, B.C.)

  • 2012 PNGA Senior Women’s Amateur Champion

Karen Madison (East Wenatchee, Wash.)

  • 2015 PNGA Super Senior Women’s Amateur Champion

Kareen Markle (Meridian, Idaho)

  • Three-time PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Champion (2005, 2007, 2013)
  • Two-time PNGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year (2013-14)

Loree McKay (Portland, Ore.)

  • 2009 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Champion
  • Four-time PNGA Women’s Senior Team Champion (2008-11)

Jackie Little (Port Alberni, B.C.)

  • Two-time PNGA Senior Women’s Amateur Champion (2008-09)
  • Two-time PNGA Senior Women’s Player of the Year (2008-09)

Sandra Turbide (Maple Ridge, B.C.)

Anita Wicks (Roseburg, Ore.)
