b'CHIP SHOTSRyggs Aussie TriumphRyggs Johnston of Libby, Mont. (population 2,775) won the Australian Open in December, in just his second tournament on the DP World Tour. He is just the 11th American to win that title, joining the ranks of Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, and Jordan Spieth, among others. The 24-year-old was ranked 954th in the world, and the win bumped him up to No. 316, also earning him a spot in the British Open to be held at Royal Portrush in July. When Johnston returned home to Libby during a break from the tour, the town gave him a parade and he rode on the top of a fire truck (pictured). The parade route started and finished at Cabinet View Golf Club, Johnstons home course located on the south end of town. He had won four consecutive state championships while attending Libby High School.Well done, young man. Photo by Cora RosanovaSTAY, PLAY.
