Get to know a little bit about Jacob:
Where did you grow up, and how did you get into the golf industry?
I was born and raised in Puyallup, Wash., spending most of my time playing or watching any sport I could. My dad introduced me to golf when I was about six, but it wasn’t until I broke my hip when I was 12 and other competitive options were off the table that I really began to understand my dad’s lifelong love for the game. I worked at Allenmore Golf Course in Tacoma while in high school and that was the beginning of my work in the golf industry.
Throughout my time at Washington State University I worked seasonally at Linden Golf and Country Club in Puyallup as a golf shop assistant. After graduating from WSU I interned for six months at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort working in the Bandon Trails golf shop and the Caddie Services department. I accepted the USGA P.J. Boatwright Internship with the Colorado Golf Association and fell in love with the championship side of what golf associations do.
What has been your favorite experience so far in the golf industry?
Working the 2019 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship in Colorado.
Who would be the other three players in your Dream Foursome?
Dad, Tiger Woods, and Rory McIlroy.
