32nd PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship Being Held at Sandpines Golf Links
The 32nd Pacific Northwest Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship is being held Sept. 13-15 at Sandpines Golf Links in Florence, Ore. The 54-hole stroke-play championship will be conducted by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association (PNGA).

Players must be 25 years of age or older by September 13, 2016 and require a USGA Handicap Index or Golf Canada Handicap Factor of 8.4 or lower to be eligible.
In last year’s Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, held on the Valley course at Bear Mountain Resort in Victoria, B.C., Brent Wilson of Cobble Hill, B.C. shot a final round 1-under par 70 to come from behind to win.
This year’s strong field includes Jeff Ward of Bend Ore., who won this title in 2014; two-time winner (2007, 2011) and member of the Golf Hall of Fame of BC, Sandy Harper of Nanaimo, B.C.; Mike Haack of Bellevue, Wash., the 2009 champion; and the 2001 champion, Alex Stamey of Mill Creek, Wash.
Sandpines Golf Links opened in 1993 and was named the Best New Public Course in the America for that year by Golf Digest. The course was designed by Rees Jones, the noted architect famed for being the “U.S. Open doctor.” Sandpines is professionally managed by OB Sports.
