Ashley Fitzgibbons Earns Medalist Honors at PNGA Junior Girls’ Amateur

14 players are competing in the 60th Pacific Northwest Junior Girls’ Amateur Championship at RedHawk Golf Course in Nampa, Idaho this week. Monday was the 18-hole stroke play qualifying.

Claiming Medalist honors was Ashley Fitzbibbons of Sammamish, Wash. who was the only player to crack par, with a round of 1-under 70. During the round Fitzgibbons made four birdies and three bogeys on a tough day where the wind played a large factor.

The Round of 16 will commence on Tuesday morning at 7:30 a.m.

The rich history of the PNGA Junior Girls’ Amateur Championship has included past champions and PNGA Hall of Famers, Jo Ann Washam, Peggy Conley, Joan Edwards-Powell, Mary Budke, and JoAnne Gunderson-Carner. Other past champions include LPGA Tour Players Paige Mackenzie and Jimin Kang.
