By the Numbers – the 2021 PNGA championship season

So, we rummaged through our files, rifled through the glove box of the PNGA championship truck, dumped out our golf bags, sifted through our pockets, and came up with some stats from the 2021 PNGA championship season:

2,952 – Miles traveled by the PNGA truck and trailer to the championship sites

2 – Albatrosses recorded (by Ethan Evans during the PNGA Junior Boys’ and by Jacob Rohde at the PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur)

6 – Years Tom Brandes has won the PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur after winning in 2021 at Wine Valley Golf Club

64 – Lowest 18-hole score, recorded by Daniel Kim in the first round of stroke-play qualifying at the PNGA Junior Boys’ at Palouse Ridge Golf Club (Kim would earn medalist honors and the No. 1 seed)

32 – Birdies and eagles that PNGA Men’s Amateur Champion, Alfred Raja, made during the stroke-play and match-play portions of the championship, held at The Idaho Club

30 – Years between Marcia Fisher’s PNGA championship victories (Fisher won the 2021 PNGA Super Senior Women’s after winning the PNGA Women’s Amateur in 1991 and 1989)

76 – Eagles made during the 2021 championship season

15 – Birdies made by Mark Strickland at the PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur, held at Silvies Valley Ranch, en route to his first PNGA championship title

11 – Matches that went to extra holes at the PNGA Men’s Amateur

3 – Weather delays – Rounds 1, 2 and 3 of the PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Amateur (frost delay)

0 – Number of shots hit in the PNGA Lamey Cup. After being cancelled in 2020 and 2021 due to the pandemic, the PNGA Lamey Cup is excited to return in 2022!
