After the top four seeds battled it out in the semifinal, the #3 seed Nate Hair of Edwall, Wash. and the #4 seed Tom Brandes of Bellevue, Wash. will play in the final match of the Master-40 Championship.
Nate Hair was able to avoid playing extra holes in the quarterfinal and semifinal after playing 19 holes in both of his matches yesterday. Hair won his quarterfinal match this morning against Drew Machleid of Seattle, Wash. 4&3. He then went on to defeat Craig Larson of Tacoma, Wash. 3&2 in the semifinal with the help from an eagle on the par 5 #11.
Tom Brandes played in two great matches today, winning both of them 1up. In the quarterfinal, Brandes was able to defeat Rob Brindgardner of Snoqualmie, Wash. even after Brindgardner made a hole-in-one on #15 to go 1up. The afternoon match turned out to be even more impressive, as Brandes and Erik Hanson of Kirkland, Wash. combined for 13 birdies and 23 pars.
The final match between Hair and Brandes is set to tee off tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m.
