Liftoff – Ace Caught on Camera

Mike Patterson had a four hole stretch in which he carded a 4, 3, 2 and then a 1…

Mike Patterson of Lacey, Wash. has been playing golf for 30 years. When he decided to take a trip to Foster Golf Links (in Tukwila, Wash.) with a few friends, the 13.1 handicap Patterson had no idea what was in store for him. It all started when Mike came to the 248 yard fifth hole where he made a routine par. Then on the 224-yard par-4 6th hole Mike made a birdie, and followed it with another birdie on the 120 yard par-3 7th holes.

Not bad for a 13 handicap.

The 8th hole was a long par-3 measuring 220 yards. Mike stepped up to the tee with a driver and swung away. His group watched his ball fly on the green and roll right into the hole for his first ever hole in one, but Mike didn’t really believe it.

Mike shot four under par on holes five through eight at Foster, carding a 4, 3, 2, and then a 1.

When asked about how bad his tab at the 19th hole was, Patterson responded, “You just have to know the right people to play with. Two of the guys were not drinkers so the tab was not that bad.”
