This year’s championship will begin on Monday, July 13 with an 18-hole stroke-play qualifying round to determine match play seeding. The players will then be placed into flights for single elimination match play. The top 32 competitors will be seeded and compete in the championship flight and the remaining contestants will be placed in flights of eight.

The Round of 32 and Round of 16 in the championship flight will take place on Tuesday, July 14. The quarterfinal and semifinal matches will be played on Wednesday followed by the final match of 18 holes on Thursday.

The Master-40 field features plenty of great golfers including a first-day pairing of last year’s champion Nate Hair with last year’s runner-up Tom Brandes, along with two-time champion of the event and recent winner of the Seattle Amateur Championship, Erik Hanson. Also in the field is the 2004 Master-40 champion, Ken Wade of Kennewick, Wash.; the 2003 Master-40 champion and runner-up in the 2015 Pacific Northwest Senior Men’s Amateur, Paul Houvener of Mill Creek, Wash.; and the 2014 Pacific Northwest Men’s Mid-Amateur champion, Jeff Ward of Bend Ore.

Last year’s championship ended with Hair winning 4 and 3 after he made the turn in the final match 1-down to Brandes.

Meadow Springs Country Club is located in southwest Washington in the city of Richland. Founded in 1973, the club is the only private member-owned country club in the Tri-Cities area. Robert Muir Graves was the course architect. The course has been the site of the Northwest Open, as well as a Nike (now Web.com) Tour event.
