Pacific Northwest Senior Team Invitational to launch in 2025
Ever since the PNGA Senior Team Championship was retired in 2019 there has been talk of creating some sort of similar replacement for what had been a very popular event.
And now The Home Course, located in DuPont, Wash. and co-owned and operated by the PNGA and WA Golf, has decided to administer and host the inaugural Pacific Northwest Senior Team Invitational.
The tournament is open to men and women golfers throughout PNGA territory who are active members of their state or provincial golf association – Oregon, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia, Alaska, and Washington.
The format will be similar to the old PNGA championship. Entrants must be 50 years of age or older for women, and 55 and older for men. Depending on the number of entrants, Super Senior divisions may be added for those 65 and older (men and women).
The tournament will consist of two-person teams, will be contested over 54 holes, and will be played in three formats, using Chapman, Scramble and Four-Ball on consecutive days.
The field size will be 160 players, and at this point would be comprised of 60 men’s teams and 20 women’s teams, both of which may be adjusted based on the number of entries.
Dates of the tournament are May 13-15, 2025, with a complimentary practice round on May 12. Entry fee is $900 per team, and an optional hotel package for four nights will be available.
