Pfeifer three-peats at USDGA Championship
Chad Pfeifer of Nampa, Idaho won the men’s overall title in the 7th USDGA Championship, shooting rounds of 71-74-69 on the Ryder Course at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
It was the third consecutive title in the championship for Pfeifer, and fourth in the last five years.
“It means a lot to win this tournament for the third straight year,” said Pfeifer, who lost his left leg above the knee in 2007 while serving as an Army Specialist in Iraq. “This is one of our big tournaments that we look forward to playing in every year. It’s a big showcase for adaptive golf and I’m always proud to lift that trophy.”
The championship is conducted by the U.S. Disabled Golf Association and is presented by the PGA of America. The mission of the championship is to provide athletes with physical, intellectual, or sensory disabilities the opportunity to shine on a championship stage.
