PNGA Players of the Year du Toit and Crisologo earn exemptions on Forme Tour
At the four-day, 72-hole Forme Tour Qualifying Tournament held this week at The Home Course in DuPont, Wash., former PNGA Players of the Year Jared du Toit (2016) of Kimberley, B.C. and Chris Crisologo (2018) of Richmond, B.C. finished second and third, respectively, each earning exemptions for the first half of the year on the newly-formed developmental professional tour. They can remain exempt for the second half of the season, based on their play.
The Forme Tour will serve as the U.S.-based 2021 alternative to the Mackenzie Tour-PGA TOUR Canada, in response to the uncertainties regarding the border closure due to the pandemic.
Callum Davison of Duncan, B.C. shot a bogey-free final round and earned medalist honors at the tournament, finishing two shots ahead of du Toit.
Sixty-two players entered this tournament, with 60 completing all 72 holes. The top five players earned the partial exemptions, with Davison as medalist earning exemption for the full season.

Even with a late bogey on 18 playing a group ahead of Davison, du Toit easily earned his card, matching Davison’s final round 67.
“I played pretty good all day. Nothing crazy. All in all, I took care of business,” said du Toit, who will board a flight Sunday for Bucaramanga, Colombia, where he will play in PGA TOUR Latinoamerica’s Holcim Colombia Classic presented by Volvo, starting Thursday. Du Toit holds membership on both Tours now, giving him plenty of playing opportunities this summer.
Crisologo began the day outside the top five, but he moved up by shooting a 4-under 68 to finish third. He nudged out Eric Lilleboe, who was tied for second through 54 holes.
“This was my first four-round event in about a year and a half,” said Crisologo. “It’s nice to get the feeling of a four-round event and staying patient out there. I struggled here and there on the greens on day one. Then I bounced back on day two. There were a lot of good players in the field, and you have to be playing good golf to get through.”
The Forme Tour begins June 23-26 with the L&J Golf Championship at Jennings Mill Country Club in the Athens, Georgia, suburb of Watkinsville.
