The Senior Men’s Amateur includes men 55 years of age or older while the Super Senior Men’s Amateur includes men age 65 years or older.

The Senior Men’s Amateur will feature a great field of players including Tom Brandes of Bellevue who is looking for his third PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur victory in four years after winning previously 2012 and ’13. Another past champion in this year’s field is Kent Brown of Colville, Wash., winner in 2005.

Jim Knoll of Sunnyvale, Calif., shot a final round 6-under par 66 for a come-from-behind win in last year’s Senior Men’s Amateur at Brasada Ranch in Powell Butte, Ore., but is not in this year’s field to defend his title.

The Super Senior Championship field features four of the five previous champions including Ted King, Noel Pumfrey, Gay Davis and Chris Maletis. A three-time Senior Men’s Amateur champion, Maletis is looking to defend his title in the Super Senior Amateur after posting a three-day total of 8-under-par at Brasada Ranch last year.

Past champions of the Senior Men’s Amateur include many members of the Pacific Northwest Golf Hall of Fame, including Carl Jonson, Kent Myers, Dr. John Harbottle, George Holland, Ken Forster and Erv Parent. Both Brandes and Maletis were inducted into the Hall of Fame this year for their amateur golf accomplishments.

The 54-hole stroke-play competition will commence at Wine Valley on Tuesday, June 9 at 7:30 a.m. Updates, including tee times, pairings, and live scoring for both championships will be available daily at www.thepnga.org.

Wine Valley Golf Club was designed by Dan Hixson. It has hosted numerous regional championships, including the 2012 PNGA Men’s Amateur, the 2013 PNGA Women’s Amateur, and the 2014 Washington State Amateur. Last month it hosted a 2015 U.S. Open local qualifier and is the regular venue for the Northwest Open Invitational. Visit www.winevalleygolfclub.com for more information on the course.

The Pacific Northwest Senior and Super Senior Men’s Championships are two of 15 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors, and seniors conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
