Caddying—more than a summer job. A life-changing opportunity

There are currently 1,070 Evans Scholars who attend 21 schools nationwide. Most Scholars attend one of the 18 universities across the country where the Evans Scholars Foundation owns and operates a Scholarship House. It is here where Scholars live and learn together, work with and care for each other.

They are top students, with all Chapters boasting cumulative GPA’s of 3.4 and a 95 percent graduation. They are promising change-makers on campus and future leaders in the workplace and in their communities. They are members of campus and community organizations, and they make giving back a priority, at both the chapter and university level. They go on to achieve success in graduate school and in professions that range from teaching to finance.

Funding scholarships is the name of the game. For over 90 years, the Western Golf Association has administered the Evans Scholars Foundation, one of the nation’s largest privately funded college scholarship programs. This is thanks to Charles “Chick” Evans, Jr., who outdistanced his achievements as a champion golfer by setting up his fund. He trusted the WGA with his legacy – and, to date, they’ve awarded more than $435 million in scholarships in his name.
