No. 1 seed Moss wins in extra holes to advance to Round of 32 at PNGA Men’s Amateur
Bremerton Wash. – No. 1 seed Sebastian Moss of Pearland, Tex. narrowly advanced to the Round of 32 at the 120th PNGA Men’s Amateur Championship, hosted this week at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash.
Today’s Round of 64 was contested on the Gold Mountain Cascade Course.

After tying the first three holes in this morning’s match, the No. 64 seed Max Ting of Atherton, Calif. jumped out to a 2 up lead on the No. 1 seeded Moss, and eventually built the lead to 3 up after 13 holes.
Down three with just five holes to play, Moss turned on the jets, he won the 225-yard par-3 14th hole, tied 15 and 16, and then won 17 with a birdie and 18 with an eagle to push the match into extra holes.
The two players would duke it out over four extra holes before Moss closed out the match with a birdie on the 480-yard par-4 5th hole, the 23rd hole of the match.
In total, four of the top-10 seeds were eliminated during today’s play. Among them, No. 3 seed Spencer Clapp of Renton, Wash. was defeated by No. 62 seed John Robinson of Centerville, Utah, who got into match play by way of a 9-for-5 playoff.
Additionally, the No. 60 seed Rajvir Bedi of San Jose, Calif., who also got into match play via the 9-for-5 playoff, defeated No. 5 seed Caden McMackin of Irvine, Calif. by a score of 4&2 to earn a spot in the Round of 32.
The largest margin of victory in today’s round went to No. 22 seed Krando Nishiba of San Diego, Calif., who won his opening match 8&6 over No. 43 seed Colby Sullivan of Keizer, Ore.
The Round of 32 will be held tomorrow morning beginning at 7:00am, followed by the Round 16 in the afternoon. Both rounds will be contested on the Gold Mountain Olympic Course.
The PNGA Men’s Amateur Championship is one of 11 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors, and seniors conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
