Maletis Captures Third Title at 45th PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur

Tsawwassen, B.C. (June 10, 2010) – Chris Maletis of Portland, Ore. captured his second consecutive Pacific Northwest Senior Men’s Amateur Championship title with a final round 1-over par 72 at Beach Grove Golf Club in Tsawwassen, B.C.

Maletis dominated the field this week with a six stroke victory and a three day total of 3-under par 210. This is his third PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur title and fourth PNGA victory overall. Maletis is one of the country’s top-ranked senior golfers and in addition to his victory this week his season already includes a win at the Senior Masters in April, and a semifinalist appearance at the PNGA Master-40 last month.

Finishing in second place and making his first appearance at the PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur Championship was Richard Jonson of Seattle, Wash. with a three day total of 3-over par 216. One stroke behind him and finishing in third place was Bob Burton of Everett, Wash. Rounding out the top-5 was Howard Broun of Calgary, Alberta at 5-over par 218 and Mike Jonson of Sammamish, Wash. at 6-over par 219. Mike Jonson also captured the Net title.
