39th PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship being held at Jug Mountain Ranch
McCall, Idaho – The 39th PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship is taking place this week, August 6-8, at Jug Mountain Ranch in McCall, Idaho.
The 54-hole stroke-play championship features a strong field of the top men’s mid-amateur players from across the Pacific Northwest.

In last year’s championship, held at Illahe Hills Country Club in Salem, Ore., Philip Bagdade of Portland, Ore. shot a final round 67 to come from behind and win the championship by one shot.
Notable players to watch in this year’s championship include:
- Mark Strickland (Mukilteo, Wash.) – winner of the 2021 PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur.
- Harrison Moir (Lake Oswego, Ore.) – runner-up at the 204 Oregon Amateur Championship. Finished in 2nd at the 2021 PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur.
- Jesse Hibler (Meridian, Idaho) – two-time PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur champion (2022-23)
To be eligible for this championship, players must be 25 years of age or older by August 6, 2024 and have a USGA Handicap Index or Golf Canada Handicap Factor of 8.4 or lower at the time of entry, and must be a member in good standing of a PNGA Member Association.
The PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship is one of 11 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors, and seniors conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
