Boquette, Bradley lead PNGA Senior, Super Senior Men’s Amateurs with even rounds
Tamarack, Idaho – Chris Boquette (Boise, Idaho) shot an even-par 73 to lead the PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur at that total, while Norm Bradley (Kelowna, B.C.) shot the same number and also leads the 16th PNGA Super Senior Men’s Amateur at even-par.
Both championships are being held concurrently this week, Sept. 15-17, at Osprey Meadows Golf Course at Tamarack (Idaho) Resort.
This marks the first time Osprey Meadows will host any PNGA Championship. Conditions Tuesday were mostly sunny with temperatures in the 60s.

In the Senior division, the highlight of Boquette’s opening nine holes was an eagle on the par-5 seventh, which he followed with a birdie on the par-4 eighth. Going out in a 3-under 33, Boquette slowed slightly on the backside, carding bogeys on holes 10, 13, 15 and 16. Regrouping, he birdied 17 to return to even-par, and he ended up finishing there with 36 holes remaining in the championship.
Boquette has come to be known in his home state. He won the senior men’s division at the 2026 Eagle (Idaho) Amateur and placed sixth and T6 in the Idaho Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateurs, respectively. He has not won a PNGA championship.
Boquette is one shot clear of Ted Himka (Bellevue, Wash.) Brian Swenson (Meridian, Idaho), Kevin Hodes (Redmond, Ore.) and Shane Johnston (West Linn, Ore.), who are all at 1-over. Tom Brandes (Bellevue, Wash. +2) is solo sixth.
Bradley challenged the golf course admirably to shoot the lowest score of the Super Senior division. He bogeyed his first, then birdied the third and fifth to reach red figures. A bogey on 7 caused him to make the turn in 36. He returned under par at the par-4 12th with a birdie and stayed there until the 18th, where a bogey brought him back to even. Still, Bradley holds a two-shot lead over Jack Schneider (Oregon City, Ore.), who carded a 2-over 75.
Bradley is one of the Northwest’s more established senior players. He won the 2024 Washington Super Senior Men’s Amateur and placed in a tie for fifth in last year’s PNGA Super Senior Men’s Am.
Behind Bradley and Schneider are Jay Sutton (Meridian, Idaho) and Karl Smith (Gig Harbor, Wash.), at 4-over. Tom Lewis (Marana, Ariz.) holds solo fifth at 7-over.
These championships are two of 11 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors and seniors conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
