Chris Boquette wins PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur; Norm Bradley takes Super Senior
Tamarack, Idaho – Chris Boquette (Boise, Idaho) shot rounds of 73-72-77 to win the 61st PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur at a 3-over par total, while Norm Bradley (Kelowna, B.C.) shot rounds of 73-75-73 to win the 16th PNGA Super Senior Men’s Amateur at 1-over.
Both championships were held concurrently this week, Sept. 15-17, at Osprey Meadows Golf Course at Tamarack (Idaho) Resort, marking the first time the course had hosted any PNGA Championship.
Scoring conditions were notably tougher Thursday than on prior days. In the Senior division, all but two players recorded rounds at 4-over par or higher as the greens proved difficult.

Boquette entered the day a single stroke off Kevin Hodes’ (Redmond, Ore.) 2-under lead, and the two players shared a closely contested final round. Boquette went birdie-bogey-birdie to start and carded all pars until the ninth, where he made bogey and made the turn in an even 36. On the back side, he found trouble on holes 11 and 12, making a bogey and double bogey, respectively. Another bogey on 14 got Boquette to 3-over. But Hodes double-bogeyed the 15th and dropped another shot on the 16th, and the players were eventually tied when they reached the 18th tee. On the last hole, championship on the line, Boquette made par while Hodes bogeyed, allowing the former to punch in a round of 77 and claim his first PNGA title at a 3-over total.
Boquette has been one of Idaho’s strongest players of late. He won the senior men’s division at the 2026 Eagle Amateur and placed sixth and T6 in the Idaho Mid-Amateur and Senior Amateurs, respectively.
Behind Boquette and Hodes, Tom Brandes (Bellevue, Wash.) claimed third at 8-over. Behind him, Mike Calhoun (Bend, Ore.) and Greg Chianello (Hillsboro, Ore.) shared fourth at 11-over par.
In the Super Senior, Bradley’s day had its ups and downs, but having entered with a five-shot lead after 36 holes, he had some leeway. He went 1-over through his first six holes with three bogeys and two birdies, before evening his round at the ninth to go out in 36. On the back side, Bradley carded one more bogey on 12, but atoned with a pair of birdies on 15 and 16 to expand his lead. By the time he finished his round of 72, Bradley was nine strokes ahead of runner-up Karl Smith (Gig Harbor, Wash.)
Bradley is one of the Northwest’s more established senior players. He won the 2024 Washington Super Senior Men’s Amateur and placed in a tie for fifth in last year’s PNGA Super Senior Men’s Am.
Smith has decades of playing merit to his name, too, having won the 1991 and 1996 PNGA Men’s Mid-Ams, the 1994 Washington Men’s Am, and the 2019 Washington Senior Men’s Four-Ball.
Jack Schneider (Oregon City, Ore.), a contender throughout the week, placed third at 13-over, as did defending champion Pat O’Donnell (Happy Valley, Ore.) who recovered from an opening 84 in doing so. Scott Masingill (Payette, Idaho), Bob Johnson (Vacaville, Calif.) and Jay Sutton (Meridian, Idaho) all tied for fifth at 18-over.
These championships are two of 11 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors and seniors conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
