Jack Meehan wins 51st PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur
Walla Walla, Wash. – Jack Meehan of Woodinville, Wash. defeated William Snow of Vancouver, Wash. 3 & 2 to win the 51st PNGA Men’s Master-40 Amateur Championship. The championship was held this week, August 3-7 at Wine Valley Golf Club in Walla Walla, Wash.
This concludes the championship week that began with 36 holes of stroke-play qualifying on August 3-4, followed by 18-hole single-elimination match play from August 5-6, culminating in today’s 18-hole final match.

Meehan was one of the championship’s stronger contenders all week and entered match play as the No. 3 seed, having gone 8-under par in 36 stroke play holes. From the Round of 32 on, Meehan won his matches 2-up, 2-up, 4 & 2, 2 & 1 and today took his 3 & 2 victory.
In the final match against Snow, Meehan jumped out to an early 1-up lead with a birdie on the second and was soon 2-up when Snow couldn’t make par on the par-3 third. Snow made another bogey on 6, and a par was all Meehan needed to go 3-up. The leader had a slight hiccup on 7 – making double bogey – but didn’t drop another front nine hole and made the turn 2-up.
Meehan accelerated on the back nine, winning holes 10 and 11 to take a 4-up lead. Snow inched closer with a birdie on the 13th but ran out of holes to close the gap and Meehan’s 3 & 2 victory was secured.
This marks Meehan’s first PNGA title. He is a member of Bear Creek Country Club in his hometown. He recently played in the 2026 Washington Men’s Mid-Amateur, where he made the cut and placed 35th.
To be eligible for the PNGA Men’s Master-40, players must have been 40 years of age or older by August 3, 2026. They also must have had an up-to-date USGA Handicap Index or Golf Canada Handicap Factor not exceeding 8.4 at the time of entry and be a member in good standing of a PNGA Member Association.
The Pacific Northwest Men’s Master-40 Amateur is one of 11 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors, and seniors conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
