PGA of America Golf Professional Marcus King, the General Manager/COO of Walla Walla (Wash.) Country Club, has joined the PGA of America Board of Directors as District 14 Director. King was elected at the 109th PGA Annual Meeting, held in Frisco, Texas, at the Omni PGA Frisco Resort. King will serve a three-year term representing the Pacific Northwest and Southwest PGA Sections, which includes Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Northern Idaho, Western Montana, Arizona and Nevada.

A PGA of America member for more than 35 years, King is a transformational leader who has spent his entire professional career guiding premier clubs through strategic growth initiatives, mentoring his peers and the next generation of PGA members and demonstrating a deep commitment to serving others.

A well-respected leader and advisor, King has served stints as a Pacific Northwest Section PGA officer, including as President (2013-14), and has served on PGA of America national committees and on the Board of Directors of First Tee of Greater Seattle. Moreover, King is one of only a few PGA of America members worldwide to hold both the Certified Club Manager (CCM) and Certified Chief Executive (CCE) designations from the Club Management Association of America.

He was inducted into the Pacific Northwest PGA Hall of Fame in 2022.

“I am truly humbled by the opportunity to represent the members, associates, staff, and partners of both the Pacific Northwest and Southwest Sections,” King said. “As I begin this three-year term, I do so with a deep appreciation for the responsibility placed in me and for those who have blazed a leadership trail before me. Your trust in my leadership is a profound honor, and I am committed to serving you with the integrity, passion, and diligence this role deserves. I consider myself a servant leader: one who leads by listening first, acting with purpose, and advocating tirelessly for the issues that matter to our members.”

Prior to his current role at Walla Walla Country Club, King served in general manager positions at Sahalee Country Club, Overlake Golf & Country Club, Sand Point Country Club, Fairwood Golf & Country Club and Wolf Creek Resort. He is widely respected for building strong cultures, high-performing teams and measurable business results.
