Peter Jacobsen talks about Waverley, growing up, and the U.S. Senior Women’s Open

Born and raised in Portland, Ore., Peter Jacobsen won seven times on the PGA TOUR, played in two Ryder Cups (1985, 1995), and had two wins on the PGA TOUR Champions, including the 2004 U.S. Senior Open. He has been a broadcaster on NBC Sports, and an analyst on Golf Channel.

One of his current roles is serving as the Championship Ambassador for the 2023 U.S. Senior Women’s Open, which will be held at Waverley Country Club in Portland on August 24-27.

Peter talks about growing up and learning the game at Waverley, what makes the club such a great host of USGA national championships (this will be the eighth one held there), and the lifetime values instilled by the game and by his father, Erling Jacobsen.
