PNGA Men’s and Women’s Mid-Amateur championships being held at Apple Tree

Yakima, Wash. – The 40th Pacific Northwest Men’s Mid-Amateur and 23rd Pacific Northwest Women’s Mid-Amateur championships are being held this week, August 26-28, at Apple Tree Resort in Yakima, Wash.

Both championships will consist of 54 holes of gross stroke play, with a hole-by-hole playoff to determine a respective champion if necessary.
Players to watch in Men’s Mid-Amateur:
- Andrew Lawson of Dallas, Texas – Won 2024 PNGA Men’s Mid-Amateur Championship, returning to defend his title.
- Reid Hatley of Hayden Lake, Idaho – Won 2018 PNGA Men Mid-Amateur, as well as 2016, 2018 Washington Mid-Amateur. Also won 2025 Washington Men’s Four-Ball.
- Wyatt Brook of Kamloops, B.C. – Won 2024 BC Mid-Amateur, placed third in same championship in 2025.
Players to watch in Women’s Mid-Amateur:
- Kendall Cox of Renton, Wash. – Won 2024 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur, returning to defend her title.
- Tina Papatolis of Issaquah, Wash. – Won 2019 and 2025 Washington Women’s Mid-Amateur, 2023 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur.
- Aram Choi of Surrey, B.C. – Placed third in 2024 PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur.
These championships are two of 11 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors and senior conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
