PNGA Player of the Year Jacobs falls in quarterfinals at U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur
Reigning Pacific Northwest Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year Amanda Jacobs of Portland, Ore. was defeated in 19 holes by Marissa Mar of San Francisco, Calif. in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Championship, hosted by Champions Golf Club in Houston, Tex. Mar is the championship’s co-medalist.
This year’s championship marked the fourth U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur that Jacobs has played in (seventh USGA championship overall) and the second consecutive year in which she had advanced to the quarterfinal round.
Jacobs is a three-time recipient of the PNGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year award (2015-17) and was twice named the WSGA Women’s Mid-Amateur Player of the Year (2014, 2015).
