PNGA Senior Team Championships Being Held at Gold Mountain
The 37th Pacific Northwest Men’s and Women’s Senior Team Championships and the 4th Men’s and Women’s Super Senior Team Championships are being held this week at Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Wash. The championships will be held consecutively on Gold Mountain’s Cascade and Olympic courses, with the Women’s being held September 16-18 and the Men’s being held September 18-20.
All four championships consist of two-person teams, and all will be contested over 54 holes. Each championship will be played in three formats, using Chapman, Scramble and Four-Ball on consecutive days. Entrants in the Senior championships must be 50 years of age or older prior to start of play in the first round, and 65 years of age for the Super Senior championships.

In the Men’s Senior Team, the team of Erik Hanson of Kirkland, Wash. and Craig Larson of Tacoma, Wash. will be trying for their fourth consecutive win in this championship; while John Gallacher of Burnaby, B.C. and Gudmund Lindbjerg of Port Moody, B.C. will be trying for their third consecutive title in the Men’s Super Senior Team.
In the Women’s Senior Team, the pairing of Ginny Burkey and Leilani Norman, both of Eugene, Ore. will be trying for their third consecutive title; while Sun Douthit of Steilacoom, Wash., who won the Women’s Super Senior title last year with partner Mary Ryan, is in the field this year with a new partner, Joanna Ellis of Lakewood, Wash., with Douthit trying for her fourth consecutive title in this championship.
