Price goes low to lead PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur; Daniels atop Super Senior leaderboard

First tee at Old Works Golf Club

Anaconda, Mont. – Robb Price of Eagle, Idaho shot a 6-under par 66 to lead the 60th Pacific Northwest Senior Men’s Amateur Championship, while Larry Daniels of Bremerton, Wash. shot a 2-under par 70 to lead the 15th Pacific Northwest Super Senior Men’s Amateur. Both championships are being held this week, September 16-18, at Old Works Golf Club in Anaconda, Mont.

The week marks just the third time Montana will host a PNGA championship, and first since the PNGA and Montana State Golf Association (MSGA) began their partnership in 2024.

With one 18-hole round of stroke play complete in both championships, two more will follow for each. A hole-by-hole playoff would determine each respective champion if necessary.

But for a bogey on the par-4 eighth hole, Price’s round 1 scorecard was clean. He made five straight birdies prior to that one dropped shot and made the turn at 4-under par, eventually padding his lead with two more birdies on holes 13 and 18.

Price will look to continue his low scoring throughout the week as he searches for his first PNGA title.

Darren Kuhn of Pocatello, Idaho is currently second, one shot back of Price after carding a 5-under 67.

In the Super Senior, Daniels bogeyed his second hole but carded only pars and three birdies after that to record a comfortable round of 70. A longtime veteran of WA Golf and PNGA championships, he previously won the 2009 Washington Senior Men’s Amateur and 2011 PNGA Senior Men’s Amateur titles.

Brad Carey of Lake Oswego, Ore. recorded a 1-under score of 71 and is currently one shot behind Daniels. Carey is the 2022 PNGA Super Senior Men’s Amateur champion.

These championships are two of 11 major, regional, amateur championships for men, women, juniors and senior conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
