Troubleshooting Problems with Internet Explorer 11 and GHIN

Having trouble using GHIN products after updating your Microsoft Internet Explorer to version 11? Our first suggestion would be to try Firefox, which is the recommended browser for all GHIN products.

However, the instructions below may be of some assistance in getting GHIN (and other) web pages to work correctly with MSIE 11…

Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 Troubleshooting

We have learned many of our clubs are updating their computer browsers to Microsoft Internet Explorer 11. This is the latest version of I.E. to be released by Microsoft. For any of the GHIN web pages to work correctly in Internet Explorer 11, the pages must use Compatibility View settings built into I.E.

To set the proper Compatibility View settings, please follow these steps:

Step 1 – Open Internet Explorer 11 and go to the webpage in question.

Step 2 – Click on the
‘gear’ icon near the upper right side of the browser window. (see screenshot)

Step 3 – Next, click on the option "Compatibility View settings" in the drop down list.

Step 4 – In the pop up window for Compatibility View Settings you should see the website listed in the "Add this website" field. Click the Add button to add this website to the Compatibility View list. Your Compatibility Window should have ghin.com and ghintpp.com in the list in order for Explorer 11 to be compatible with GHP and TPP website programming. If you need to add an additional site just type in the site names you need and click Add to add more names.

Step 5 – Click the
Close
button to close the pop-up window. The browser page will automatically refresh and the web page will now function in the normal manner.

You can do these same steps for any website that appears to be acting strangely compared to your experience prior to updating to Internet Explorer 11.

GHIN websites affected are: GHIN.com; GHINClub.net; GHINtpp.com and eRevision Newsletter links.
