USGA expands Bodenhamer’s role
John Bodenhamer’s responsibilities have expanded to now direct both the fan and player experience at all 14 USGA championships.
John has led the USGA’s team of amateur championship directors for some time, and his role has now been broadened to include leadership of the USGA’s four Open Championships, which are open to amateurs and professionals – the U.S. Open, U.S. Women’s Open, U.S. Senior Open, and U.S. Senior Women’s Open. As a result, John will oversee a 360-degree operation that includes ticketing, hospitality, corporate partnerships and the consistent conduct of these competitions – in other words, he is now in charge of everything that happens both inside and outside the ropes of all USGA championships.
John was executive director and CEO of the Pacific Northwest and Washington State golf associations for 20 years, before leaving for the USGA in 2011.
