Tetherow Recognized by Pacific Northwest Golfer Magazine

Par-4 10th hole selected as one of the ‘Great Holes of the Northwest’

Par-4 10th hole at Tetherow Golf Club.

In the August 2018 issue of Pacific Northwest Golfer magazine, the par-4 10th hole at Tetherow Golf Club in Bend, Ore. is recognized as one of the “Great Holes of the Northwest,” one of just four holes selected each year by the Northwest’s largest and longest-running golf publication.

This short par-4 is just 316 yards from the very back tees (the Kidd tees), and is downhill. The hole provides a risk-reward option, to either lay up with the tee shot or go for the green. There are several tufts of fescue that dot the fairway, and greenside bunkers left and right, with brush surrounding the green on all sides. There is a narrow slot on the right, allowing for a tee shot to run through and onto the putting surface.

Tetherow was designed by award-winning architect David McLay Kidd. The routing takes full advantage of the panoramic views of the Cascade peaks, including Three Sisters and Broken Top as well as the rugged high desert terrain. Upon opening in 2008, Tetherow was ranked the No. 1 “Best New Course You Can Play” by Golf Magazine and has since then received numerous other “Best New” rankings from Golf Digest, Links Magazine, Golfweek, T&L Golf and the Robb Report.

With a direct-mailed circulation of 123,000 households, Pacific Northwest Golfer magazine has been the voice of golf in the Northwest for over 20 years. It is the only Northwest golf publication with a verifiable demographic of its readership. Pacific Northwest Golfer is all about golf, and dedicated to golfers, and is the model by which other regional golf publications have used. It is the official magazine of the British Columbia, Idaho, Oregon, Washington State and Pacific Northwest golf associations, as well as the Pacific Northwest Section PGA. Published by the Pacific Northwest Golf Association, a 501c3 charitable international amateur golf association, Pacific Northwest Golfer is a member benefit delivered to member clubs in British Columbia and to those who utilize the USGA GHIN Handicap System through member clubs, either public or private.
