Championship Details

The PNGA Lamey Cup is a premier, Ryder Cup-style team championship featuring many of the top amateur golfers in the Pacific Northwest.

In 2026, the championship expands to a six-team format, with teams representing Alaska Golf, British Columbia Golf, Idaho Golf Association, Montana State Golf Association, Oregon Golf Association, and Washington Golf.

Each team consists of 10 players competing across multiple age divisions, with men and women contributing to a single team score—making the Lamey Cup one of the only championships of its kind in the country.

Over two days of match play competition, teams compete in four-ball, foursomes, and singles matches to determine the champion.

Team Breakdown

Field Size: 60 players (10 per team)

  • 2 – Men Mid-Amateurs (25+)
  • 2 – Men Master-40 (40+)
  • 2 – Senior Men (55+)
  • 2 – Women Mid-Amateurs (25+)
  • 2 – Senior Women (50+)

PNGA Team Structure:

The team representing the PNGA will be comprised of up to five (5) players from Alaska Golf, maximum of one in each playing category, and one (1) player from each of the five remaining associations designated by playing category on a rotating basis each year. If Alaska Golf is unable to provide a player in any of the playing categories, the spot will be filled first by the host association, and secondly from any of the remaining associations based on player accomplishments in the previous year. Each association will select their team first and players who do not make their home association team will be selected for the PNGA team. Playing category designations for 2026 are below:

  • Men’s Mid-Amateur – Montana State Golf Association
  • Men’s Master-40 – British Columbia Golf
  • Senior Men’s – Idaho Golf Association
  • Women’s Mid-Amateur – Oregon Golf Association
  • Senior Women’s – Washington Golf
