Final Matches set at PNGA Junior Amateur Championships
Corvallis, Ore. – The final matches are set for the 69th PNGA Junior Boys’ and 68th Junior Girls’ Amateur Championships, hosted this week at Trysting Tree Golf Club in Corvallis, Ore.
Mason Ho from Portland, Ore., will square off against Benjamin Barrett of Spokane, Wash., in the Junior Boys’ final, while Amy Seung Hyun Lee of Langley, B.C., will face Alyssa Rigby from Vancouver, Wash., in the Junior Girls’ final.
The final matches for both championships will be contested over 36 holes on Friday, August 16. The Junior Boys’ final will tee off at 7:00 a.m., and the Junior Girls’ final will tee off at 7:40 a.m.

Ho, the No. 12 seed in the bracket, punched his ticket to the final match by defeating Jack Harrington from Lake Oswego, Ore., in the morning quarterfinal round with a score of 1 up. Ho then took down medalist and No. 1 seed Jack Kendrick from Vancouver, Wash., in the afternoon semifinal, winning by a score of 2 & 1.
Barrett, the No. 23 seed, earned his spot in the final match by defeating defending champion Teigen Brill from Spokane, Wash., 1 up in the morning quarterfinal round. In the afternoon semifinal, he dispatched James Bordeaux from University Place, Wash., by a score of 2 & 1.
Earlier this summer, Ho made the quarterfinals at the Oregon Junior Amateur. He is a rising high school senior and finished T3 in the 2024 OSAA High School State Championship.
Barrett is a rising high school junior. He has won two Washington Junior Golf Association titles this year: the District 5 Championship and the WJGA Cup.
In the Junior Girls’ Amateur, Lee, the medalist and No. 1 seed in the bracket, defeated Madeleine Conser from Portland, Ore., in the morning quarterfinal round with a score of 1 up. She secured her spot in the final match by defeating Melia Cerenzia from Spokane, Wash., 4 & 3 in the afternoon semifinal.
Rigby, the No. 2 seed, earned a spot in the 36-hole final match by defeating Mandi Wang from Surrey, B.C., 3 & 2 in the morning quarterfinal. In the afternoon semifinal, she outlasted Clara Ding from White Rock, B.C., in 19 holes to punch her ticket to the final.
Earlier this summer, Lee won both the B.C. Junior Girls’ Championship and the B.C. Women’s Amateur.
Rigby, just 14 years old, finished in 4th place at the 2024 SCGA Women’s Four-Ball Championship with her partner, Tracy Rigby.
Both championships began with 36 holes of stroke play qualifying (August 12-13) to determine seeding for the match play portion of the championships. For the Boys’ championship, 32 players advanced to match play; for the Girls’, 16 players advanced.
These championships are two of 11 major regional amateur championships for men, women, juniors, and seniors conducted annually by the PNGA throughout the Northwest.
